mailto:demo@example.com?Subject=HighRoad Solutions - interesting article

Social media marketing is something your association has either been using for years now and you have believe you have it mastered, or its one of those things that has always been a good idea, and something that is “on the roadmap”. No matter what scenario you find yourself in today, here are some tips and tricks on how to take your social media content to the next level (with minimal to no extra effort from you!).

Social Media Automation Software & Apps

The easiest way to automate your social media is to utilize social media automation software and apps. If you haven’t been doing this… you're going to be kicking yourself when you realize what you’ve kept on your to-do list all day to post to certain social accounts, could have been all crossed off in a matter of minutes.

Apps and software such as Hootsuite or HubSpot and many many more, each having their own specific claim to fames but for the most part all doing the same thing, exist to make your life as the marketer way easier. They exist so you can schedule a day or weeks’ worth of social posts in minutes. You also have the option to control all of your social, from one place, the ability to monitor the consistency of message among all platforms, and see all of your accounts in real time.

Sync Your Blog

As a fellow blog writer, I understand that the time it takes to create these things is no joke. Why wouldn’t you want to put your labor of love across all platforms you can. Here at HighRoad, once our blogs are published, not only do they end up on our main website, they get blasted off to Twitter, Facebook, and into the inbox of our dedicated subscribers.

Recycle Evergreen Content

Evergreen content, think about it as the content you’ve created that you loved, that can still be relevant now. Speaking of blogs, remember when I said it’s a labor of love and why wouldn’t you want the world to see it? I bet you have some sort of content that was published long ago that is relevant to what is happening now.

Obviously, you’re not going to want to be publishing your Best Of Marketing Automation of 2015… but I’m sure right now you’re thinking of that one blog post that is time to bring back!

Tweet Multiple Times

What does that mean!? No one knows. No one knows exactly how many times someone is supposed to tweet. There’s no unspoken rule of what is “too much” but there is a rule of thumb. Supposedly it is thought best to tweet 3 times a day. That is just enough that you are covering a wide base of people (on both coasts!) without spamming their timelines and making them disinterested, or even worse, unsubscribe (EEK!).

Curate Content (Give Your Account a Human Touch)

Automation is great, but as we know in the association world new content to put out to our members is always being developed and things happening in our world is something you could use to relate to your following. Be sure to be mindful of this and know when it’s time to throw an “in the moment” post or tweet in with your regularly programed content!

We’re at a day in age where this strange (and genius) thing has started to happen. What we thought to be these robotically ran social accounts have started to take life. Which at first was shocking but now seems to be the norm. Wendy’s and McDonalds can be found battling it out in the twitter universe in real time.

The more personal touch you can give your account the more interaction you will find you’ll get from your subscribers.   Whether it be re-tweeting, re-blogging or sharing your content on their page, it reaches new eyes and you did none of the leg work to get it there.

All of these tips can help wake up your social content after a relaxing summer, and give you some ideas moving forward if you haven’t been utilizing social media automation.
