Simple Idea to Increase Email Subscribers

Like most people, one of the key services that email provides to me is to alert me to what's happening in the rest of the world outside of my own bubble. I got an email alert to tell me about a new Twitter follower this week that really caught my eye because it included a super simple idea--make sure to cross-promote your email newsletter subscription capabilities.

So many associations don't have a non-member newsletter or email subscription sign-up and yet, probably should as it's a great way to start the process of cultivating members. By ungating some content and establishing a rapport with an email subscriber, your organization can begin the process of assessing goodness of fit between user and organization to find out if membership is right for the both of you. 

What an easy idea to imitate & I suggest we all cross-promote our email sign-up list in our Twitter descriptions:
