Inbound Marketing may sound like the latest business buzzword, but it's here to stay and it's time to make the switch. So, how will this switch affect your business?

1. You become the expert

Unlike traditional marketing where you push your product and company out to the consumer, inbound marketing gives you the opportunity to establish yourself as the expert in your niche and invite the consumer to come to you. Instead of cold calls, you have a database of customers who are already interested in what you do.

So, how do you accomplish that? A good start is through blogs, social media, and guest publishing. When you create content for these platforms, remember that your goal is to show the consumer that your company understands their needs and then has products that solve their problem.

2. The Conversion becomes Natural

You've already established yourself as an expert, so the next step is to gather consumer information. There are many ways to do this, but one of the most popular is offering something for free, like an e-book or webinar about the problem your product is solving. Once a consumer signs up for one of these products, they become a lead and the best part is you already know they are interested in your solution to their problem.

3. Delight Your Current Customers

Once you've converted your lead into a customer, it's time to delight them. This means you need to know your customer base and what their interests are. Sometimes delighting your customers is as simple as keeping an engaging social media presence, but as always a respectful and knowledgeable customer service base is the first step to keeping your customers happy.
