Email Marketing

mailto:demo@example.com?Subject=HighRoad Solutions - interesting article

When you hear the term Excel Macros, your eye may twitch a little bit. But trust me, using this simple ... almost magical trick will make your bounce log analysis in BlueHornet super-easy.

When you're reviewing bounce logs you want to fry the biggest fish first. Address any broad blocks by a particular domain to resolve the root issue so you can resume sending to your members who may not be getting your emails.

  1. On the Reporting tab, click on "Sent Messages" and select the checkbox next to the email you want to analyze.
  2. On the Delivery tab, click the "Download Bounce Log" link and save the file to your computer.

  3. Open Excel, go to File>Open and select the bounce log file you downloaded. If you don't see it, you may need to choose "All Files" if Excel is looking specifically for a file formatted as an Excel file to view this untitled spreadsheet.

  4. Download and open the Bounce Log Macro.
  5. Run the Macro titled "Bouncelog" on the untitled spreadsheet to format the bounce data for easy viewing
    a. Click on the "Developer" tab along the top of your Excel file. Then click on Macros.

    b. Highlight the Macro titled "Bouncelog" and click "Run."

  6. After the Macro is finished, the data will be formatted so you can easily see which domains and bounce reasons are causing deliverability issues. The data is sorted by the most problematic domain(s).
